Happiness is
a Choice.

The End.

  1. I know this was a while ago, but I've been thinking about it. On Sunday I had a little epiphany: being good does not guarantee happiness. Shocking, right? I've always believed and taught that if you do what is right, are a good person, align your life with God's will, you will be happy. Wickedness never was happiness, so righteousness is happiness. I am finding that while doing/being good brings me peace, hope, comfort, direction, and moments of joy, it does not necessarily make me happy. It's not an automatic, linear sort of equation. This surprised me. Not only is happiness a choice, but it also must be cultivated and discovered and nurtured and made a habit. We can be doing truly wonderful things and still find happiness elusive for a variety of reasons. Some people need a perspective change, others more gratitude, others to discover their passion, others sincere and dedicated effort, and some medication. But I do believe that God wants us to be happy and He can help us to figure out what we need to do to find and keep happiness. Does that make sense?
You're awesome, Amy. I love reading your blog and keeping up with your family.
