A Giveway...just because

This is not my 800th post.

I did not come into any money.

I am not sponsored.

I am not well known, or even sort of known ,really, in the blogosphere.

But I feel happy.

And Jeff and I are running in Ragnar today. Which is something to celebrate.

So in honor of not being some of those things, but being other things, I am having my first ever giveaway.

Yes, a giveaway.

It started because I am painting the boys' room. I am using Martha Stewart paint. And as I sat painting the walls a very dark chocolate color (you wait til you see it, it's awesome!),

I thought, "Martha Stewart paint is the best ever. Even this dark chocolate color and I only need one coat. I wish everyone knew about it, I wish I could give it away so people could try it. Hey, why don't I give it away?"

So while I can't give you a gallon of Martha Steward paint (do you have any idea what the shipping would be?) I can give you a gift card to Home Depot.

Now, while I would like you to use it for Martha Stewart paint, you don't have to. You can use it for any ol' thing you want.

So, here are the rules:

Just tell me what you would do with a $25 gift card to Home Depot.

One entry per person.

Giveaway will close at midnight on Sunday.

Now, please, please enter. Even if you know me personally, you still qualify for this cuz I'm going to use Random.org to generate a winner. See? No bias. Just pure luck.

Let us celebrate some happiness through paint.

I will announce the winner on Monday at noon.

Good luck!

  1. Oh boy a giveaway!!!!! The Breckon Playground will be moving an 8 x 8 wooden playhouse to the property this afternoon. It is darling and has seen other kids through their blissful childhood.

It has never been painted! So this giveaway comes at just the right time. We will need to prime and paint the playhouse inside and out!

You can see the house at Link to Playhouse Ad

  4. Don't really "need" that much, but I really would like some plants in my life. I have a few, but not as much as I'd like. I'd use the $25. to bring more color and oxygen into our lives!

    Thanks, Amy!

  5. My husband and I would love to redo the bathroom in our bedroom. We need to take the wallpaper down and to pain the walls after so we would put this towards the materials for that project.

  7. I would pick anything BUT paint. It's my least favorite project in the whole world. I do have some plans for some planter gardens but I am a little lacking in the wood department. I will let Kim stain them. :O)

  8. I would us it to somehow make the 850 sqft house we're moving to in Alaska liveable during the long, dark, cold winter... convincing?

  9. I would get some new chairs for the front porch. I like to sit outside and watch my 2-year-old play, and a comfy new chair would make it better

  10. I would buy a Y for the hose so we don't have to unscrew and re-screw the hose on the water spicket to water our garden and lawn each day. The kids broke the old one - go figure!

  11. Winning a Home Depot gift card would be fun - I am ready to start changing some of the off white walls in our house. Maybe Colby could help me?

  12. Well, let's see. I think I would use it for the materials (paint included) to build a house for my freakishly-weird cat, Schrodie, because the box she's been using since bringing her home from the shelter is well-ragged now!

  13. If I won I would give it to my dad for his birthday. He has so many projects going right now and very little money to finish them. I think it would help out so much! I really hope I win. Thanks for having one just because:)

  14. I would...um...probably not paint anything since we don't own a home. But would really like to build a bench to go with my dining room table that I built all by my little lonesome! (Plans thanks to knockoffwood!)

  17. I would pick Martha Stewart paint. I'm a die-hard fan of Behr but now I am curious about Martha's paint. Our bedroom is Caribbean-themed (because we spent our honeymoon and 1st anniversary there, and are headed there in October to celebrate our 5th). I would like to extend the theme to the master bathroom and paint the walls a pretty Caribbean blue. I've had the color picked out for months but haven't found time to paint. Maybe this would be the kick in the butt that I need to tackle the project :)

  18. We need paint to re-paint the trim on our house again - does Martha do outdoor paint?

  19. oh, what a good time to check your blog....we need to build those darn gates!

  20. Let's see...I would paint Emily's room. I promised I would do it this summer and the summer is half way over already. Not sure I could actually take a gift card from you for nothing though. Hmmm...perhaps you should pick someone else :)

  21. I'd give it to my mom. She's NEVER painted her room, and has always wanted to.

  22. I would buy paint for my master bedroom or the breezeway, because we are still stuck in our house in RI and it needs a little pick me up. :)

  23. We would use it to rent a rottotiller (OK. so yes, I realize that is not how you spell that word, but close enough). The first step in turning the mud pit / dust field (depending on wheather) that is our current backyard into a haven that my children can actually play in without having to keep a towel by the back door to clean up with when they come in. Thanks Amy!
